Special Metal Saw Blades

FOR SAWING ALUMINUM and PLASTIC

ALUMINUM
    Special Metal Saws may be used effectively for sawing the softer grades of aluminum in applications where high-volume production is not required. The Rockwell hardness of Special Metal Saws is lower than that of High Speed Steel Blades, because they are subject to more severe strains and rougher treatment. It is always recommended that some form of lubrication be used when sawing aluminum such as a mixture of soluble oil and water, or saw wax.

PLASTIC
    Special Metal Saws are an excellent choice for cutting plasitcs such as thin extrusions, vinyl siding, PVC material, Acrylics, Plexiglas, rigid foam, etc. Since Special Metal Saws are hollow ground and come with finer tooth counts, they can be more effective than carbide tipped blades for achieving smoother, finished cuts.

Important: Special Metal Saws are not recommended for cutting brass, copper, zinc or anodized aluminum.
