Cold and Friction Saw Blades FOR FRICTION SAWING OF THIN MILD STEEL      Friction Saws are designed for cutting thin sections of mild steel such as sheets, tubes and light stuctural shapes up to 1/8" thick. The sawing of ferrous metal with this type of blade is done by friction. Friction sawing requires a fine tooth blade, operated at high arbor speed, for use on heavy-duty saws equipped with large motors and clamping fixtures. Since friction blades actually burn through the stock, removing globules of metal rather than chips, some burring of the material may result. However, friction saws are superior to abrasive wheels where finish and cutting life are important. To avoid damaged blades and excessive burring, it is recommended that friction blades be changed frequently for sharpening. Due to the abusive nature of steel sawing applications, we cannot guarantee our friction saws against cracking. FRICTION SAWS REGULARLY CARRIED IN STOCK Dia.
